PS pick-up signal recordings

From this page, you can download some recordings of pick-up signals from the CERN PS accelerator. All recordings are zipped archives of four signals, the sum, X and Y components, and a square wave at the revolution frequency. Every signal file has a four line header giving information about the settings of the Acqiris digitizers used to make the acquisitions. The remainder of the file are raw ADC values expressed as signed decimal integers in the range -128..127 (The Acqiris has 8-bit ADCs).

The typical header format is as follows:
0050000 Number of samples (50000)
0 Not used
0000.00781 Scale value, (7.81mV/count)
0000.10000 DC offset (Here 1V positive)

Recording from other instants during the acceleration are available. See measurements near transition and measurements near ejection.

Injection measurements

An EASTB type proton beam at injection. The machine runs at h=8, and a single bunch is injected into the first RF bucket. The approximate beam intensity is 1e11ppb. The record is 100k samples long and is taken from PU63, about 132 meters from the injection point in SS42. The sample rate is 500MHz, so the record covers 200us.
The picture shows the first 5k samples of the sum signal. Click on the picture to download EASTB_inj.zip(156kB).

An EASTC type proton beam at injection. The machine runs at h=8, and a small bunch (3e11p+) is injected into the first RF bucket. A second, more intense, bunch (3e12p+) is injected into bucket 7. The two bunches are then accelerated together. The record is 200k samples long and is taken from PU63, about 132 meters from the injection point in SS42. The sample rate is 500MHz, so the record covers 400us.

A TOF type proton beam at injection. The machine runs at h=8, and a single bunch is injected into the first RF bucket. The approximate beam intensity is 7e12ppb. The record is 100k samples long and is taken from PU63, about 132 meters from the injection point in SS42. The sample rate is 500MHz, so the record covers 200us.

An AD type proton beam at injection. The machine runs at h=8, and four bunches are injected into the first four RF buckets. The approximate beam intensity is 3e12ppb. The record is 100k samples long and is taken from PU63, about 132 meters from the injection point in SS42. The sample rate is 500MHz, so the record covers 200us.

An LHC type proton beam at injection. The machine runs at h=7, and four bunches are injected into the first four RF buckets. The approximate beam intensity is 2e12ppb. The record is 100k samples long and is taken from PU63, about 132 meters from the injection point in SS42. The sample rate is 500MHz, so the record covers 200us.
The picture shows the first 5k samples of the sum signal. Click on the picture to download LHC_inj.zip(210kB).

An SFTPRO proton beam at injection. The harmonic number h=8. A bunch of about 3e12ppb fills every bucket. The record is 50k samples long and taken from PU63, about 132 meters from the injection point in SS42. The sample rate is 500MHz, so the record covers 100us. This recording is very noisy and I'll replace it with a better one when I get it.
